All good things must come to an end

CRAWFORD, Texas, September 1 – Today the anti-war protesters outside of Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas, left their camp to travel to new destinations. Leader Cindy Sheehan is determined to fight for the cause and the “Bring Them Home Now” tour is continuing as planned. Next stop for Sheehan is the office of U.S. House Majority Leader Tom Delay in the Houston area.

“Camp Casey” started on August 6 when the mother of a fallen soldier, Casey, decided she wanted to speak to Bush about the war. Her reasons stem mainly from the fact that Bush has repetitively called the war “a noble cause” and seeing that the validity of the war, weapons of mass destruction” was terribly absent she decided to face him head-on. Of course the courageous leader did not sit down and talk with this grieving woman, instead he began a media offensive trying to get more support for his point of view.

All opinions aside this event has raised attention again to the terrible war in Iraq, something that wasn’t discussed much after the Presidential election in 2004. This might even be a turning point in history, as one citizen raised so much attention and got so much support for her cause simply by having her voice heard. We just hope the troops indeed come home soon.
