Angry mom is after the President

CRAWFORD, TEXAS, August 7 – The mother of a fallen soldier, Cindy Sheehan, has demanded to speak to the President about the Iraq war. To support her demands she has started to camp right outside of Bush’s ranch in Texas, ensuring she will be noticed. About 50 demonstrators joined her chanting “W. killed her son!”.

While she hasn’t succeeded in her objective yet she did get to speak to national security adviser Steve Hadley and deputy White House chief of staff Joe Hagin, who came out to hear what she had to say. Although Sheehan appreciated the gesture she has decided she will still wait for a talk with the President himself. Her son Casey, 24 years old, was killed in April 2004 in Sadr City. He was in the army as a Humvee mechanic.

Police kept Sheehan and her supporters about 4 to 5 miles away from the ranch. Sheehan elaborated why she chose to come out for Bush now, and not when her son was actually killed. She explained that she decided she wanted an answer from Bush because he said in a speech a few days ago that the fallen soldiers in Iraq have died for a “noble cause”. ”I want to ask him what that noble cause is,” she said. ”I don’t want him to use my son’s name or my family name to justify any more killing.”
